RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Three Palestinians were injured by live bullets on Wednesday in clashes with Israeli soldiers in al-Jalazone refugee camp north of Ramallah, witnesses said.
Mohammad Yousef Zomrah was hit in the stomach, Mohammad Adnan was hit in the foot, and a third unidentified man was injured.
Witnesses said that clashes broke out after Israeli forces closed a road linking Ramallah and the center of the West Bank.
Israeli forces fired live and rubber-coated steel bullets at Palestinians who responded by throwing rocks and empty glass bottles.
An Israeli army spokeswoman said soldiers were responding to a "violent and illegal riot" and used riot-dispersal means to disperse the Palestinians.
She said the incident was under review after a complaint of excessive force was filed to the local District Coordination Office.
Asked to confirm witness accounts that soldiers had used live fire, the spokeswoman said the incident was "under review" without elaborating.
