HEBRON (Ma'an) -- The student union at Palestine Polytechnic University suspended classes Thursday after an altercation between Fatah youth and Islamic bloc students, a Ma'an reporter said Thursday.
The Islamic bloc students organized a sit-in on campus to protest the arrests of several affiliated classmates by Palestinian Authority security forces.
In August, Hamas accused PA security forces of arresting members of the Islamist movement, including an Islamic bloc student from the same university.
Sixteen students remained at the sit-in after classes were cancelled, the Ma'an reporter said.
