Tubas public official sentenced on corruption charge

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian anti-corruption court on Wednesday sentenced a man from the Tubas district to a year and a half of hard labor and fined him 200 Jordanian Dinars ($275) after he was found guilty of corruption.
The court found the man, identified only as A.D., guilty of embezzling 160 Jordanian dinars as an employee of Tubas's property tax department. The judges Iyad Tayyim, Bilal Abu Hantash and Anton Jabir ordered him to repay the money in addition to paying court fees.
