BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Palestinian negotiators Saeb Erekat and Mohammed Shtayyeh presented their resignation to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas Thursday, a Ma'an reporter said.
The negotiators' bid for resignation can be either accepted or rejected by Abbas, who called for a PLO Executive Committee meeting to discuss the issue as soon as possible.
This decision comes shortly after Israel revealed plans to demolish the homes of over 15,000 Palestinians in East Jerusalem in addition to announcing the construction of over 5,000 illegal settler homes in the occupied Palestinian territories.
