GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- A military court in the Gaza Strip on Thursday sentenced a man to death by hanging.

The Hamas-run court found the man - identified only as A.K. - guilty of collaborating with Israeli authorities, without providing further details.

On June 22, the Gaza government hanged two men accused of collaborating with Israel. Under Palestinian law, collaboration with Israel, murder, and drug trafficking are all punishable by death.

However all execution orders must be approved by the president before they can be carried out. Hamas no longer recognizes the legitimacy of incumbent Mahmoud Abbas, whose four-year term ended in 2009.

Hamas has executed 17 people since taking over Gaza in 2007, according to the Palestinian Center for Human Rights.

Another secret kangaroo court. Another possibly innocent Palestinian to be murdered by Hamas. Did he have a lawyer? Probably not. Did he get justice? Of course he did - Palestinian justice. Where are the NGOs? Where are Mel and Julie and Colin and allegedly keen readers everywhere? Silent, of course. This was just Islamofascist justice at work. They can't blame Israel so they don't care. AK probably looked at a Hamas guy's girlfriend. Now he's gonna die, probably after being tortured.

#4 -They can blame Israel Brian, they can blame Israel for inciting collaboration with an enemy. Hamas recently offered an amnesty to collaborators, the posters clearly state 'Repent' or 'Die'. Collaboration isn't viewed well in most countries, go back a few years to the end of WW2 & see what happened then. I am sure you are aware of what happened to the Nazi collaborators. HAMAS could choose to be lenient, show mercy & spare AK's life, but that is for HAMAS to decide. #8 Sylvia- Like your post!
