CAIRO (Ma'an) -- Egyptian authorities on Tuesday released 100 Palestinian refugees out of 350 who were detained while trying to leave Syria through Egyptian waters, the Palestinian embassy in Cairo said.

The released detainees were freed from Alexandria and el-Beheira police stations, the embassy added.

Over 350 Palestinian refugees from al-Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria were detained by Egyptian security forces in September while trying to migrate to Italy.
