HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Four people were injured on Monday during clashes between Palestinian farmers and Israeli settlers in the south Hebron hills, locals said.

The clashes occurred after settlers attacked a group of farmers tending their land.

Ismail al-Adra said that ten settlers attacked him and several other farmers while they were on their way to tend their fields.

Locals told Ma'an that a Palestinian farmer and three settlers were injured during the brawl. One farmer, Sabir al-Adra, was hit in the face with a steel pipe.

Another farmer, Mousa al-Adra, was also attacked and injured, together with a foreign solidarity activist who was filming the settler attack.

Israeli forces arrived at the scene and detained a number of farmers, accusing them of attacking settlers.

An Israeli army spokeswoman confirmed the clashes and said four people were injured, one Palestinian and three Israelis.

Two Palestinians and seven Israelis were detained and transferred to the custody of the Israeli police, she added.

There are several radical Jewish outposts in the south Hebron hills, with settlers regularly attacking local Palestinians with impunity.

Correction: An earlier version of this article quoted the Israeli army spokeswoman as saying that nine Palestinians were detained. The Israeli spokeswoman later told Ma'an that her initial reports were incorrect, and that in fact seven Israelis and two Palestinians had been detained.

Bravo farmers! It's the Palestinians &their farmers who are the LIFE &soul of Palestine &probably Israel too,if the Jews who really care'd wake up &realize that. Extremist Zionism &brutal"settler"separation-apartheid colonists, are the DEATH of Israel.Palestine will go on regardless. The farmers & shepherds are the roots of Palestine,as deep as the OLIVE TREES!We wil always stand with the farmers &shepherds. The nurturers of the land, not MURDERERS of the land!

Mel: When the first Arab entered history IN ARABIA in 853 BCE, Jews had been in Hebron for 600 years. When they first conquered Hebron in 638 CE, Jews had 2,000 years on the land. Ergo, viewing Palestinians- the progeny of genocidal Islamo-fascist conquerors as having more rights to the land than the Jews- the indigenous people of the land-is pathetically ignorant. How much more so when coming from Americans?

Rachamim - Don't even try to talk sense to Mel. She is so hate consumed, that she is blinded to the truth.
