Israeli forces detain 6 Jerusalemites overnight

JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces launched a campaign of arrests on Monday night targeting Jerusalem residents.

Amjad Abu Assab, president of the committee for Jerusalemite prisoners and detainees, said that the campaign of arrests included released prisoners who have spent a number of years in Israeli prisons.

Assab added that those detained in the campaign were Haitham al-Jabba, a resident of the Old City who was detained at his workplace in the industrial zone of Atroun, Khalil Ghazzawi, a resident of the Old City who was detained in his home in Heyy al-Thawry, Muhammad al-Hadami, a resident of Wadi al-Joz, freed prisoner Moid Bibouh Abu Tork, freed prisoner Hamed Bibouh Abu Tork, and Abd al-Saleh Bakirat from the village of Sur Baher.

The internationally recognized Palestinian territories of which the West Bank and East Jerusalem form a part have been occupied by the Israeli military since 1967.
