CAIRO (Ma'an) -- Egyptian security forces detained five young Sudanese men and a woman who were attempting to cross into Israel through the Egyptian border Monday.

Egyptian security sources said the detainees admitted during interrogation that they planned to cross into Israel to look for work.

They also said that each paid $2,000 to human traffickers in the Sinai Peninsula to help them cross the borders.
