BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces stormed two Bethlehem-area towns early on Sunday morning and detained eight young men, local sources said.

In al-Ubeidiya east of Bethlehem, Israeli forces ransacked several homes before they detained seven young men.

Locals identified them as Yunus Muhammad Safi, 18, Walid Yusuf Safi, 26, Iyad, 18, Saad Muhammad al-Asa, 35, Majid Rabayaa, 38, Issa Abu Sarhan, 25, and Hisham Dawood Radaydah, 33.

Israeli forces also raided the town of Doha west of Bethlehem and detained 32-year-old Firas Ahmad al-Audah.

An Israeli army spokeswoman confirmed eight detentions in al-Ubeidiya, and said the suspects were arrested for involvement in "illegal activities."
