GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Hamas on Wednesday criticized President Mahmoud Abbas' decision to appoint Samih Shbib as the new secretary-general of the Palestinian Central Elections Commission.

“This decision contradicts the Cairo agreement which states that an elections committee should be formed in coordination” between factions, a Hamas statement said.

Hamas called on Abbas to rethink the decision.

Shbib replaced Rami Hamdallah as the new secretary-general.

Come on Abbas, if you can't honour your word to your own countrymen, why would anyone else accept it on anything else? Stop this nonsensical stalling, end the division, and hold elections - or are you too scared you will lose - again?! Some might even think that you are stalling until Israel and Egypt wipe out your opposition...

Typical Abbas! He's trying to delay ALL reconciliation paths with Hamas etc & SACRIFICE ALL PALESTINE for 'West Bantustan'factional power & his 'treats' from occupying Israeli paymasters.Obviously Abbas, you've ALREADY "accepted the false(pugnacious)superiority of your(Zionist)oppressors"(MLKJnr),now you try to put a Zionist spanner in the Cairo agreement? Shish-kebabs,Abbas must REALLY prefer his velvet-covered Zionist neck-collar,to saving Palestine with national ARAB UNITY.
