HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces stormed the southern West Bank village of Beit Ummar and raided a home on Saturday evening.
Coordinator of the popular committee in Beit Ummar Said Mohamed Awad Ayad said that four Israeli soldiers patrolled a southern residential neighborhood in the Palestinian village facing the nearby Israeli settlement of Karmi Zur.
He added that the Israeli forces raided the house of Jamal Abd al-Majeed w Hadeen, checking the identity cards of his sons before leaving the area and entering the settlement, where a vehicle awaited them.
An Israeli army spokeswoman said that there was "nothing unusual in Beit Ummar."
More than 500,000 Israeli settlers live in settlements across the West Bank and East Jerusalem, in contravention of international law.
The internationally recognized Palestinian territories of which the West Bank and East Jerusalem form a part have been occupied by the Israeli military since 1967.
