BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is scheduled to host a delegation of young Israelis in his Ramallah office on Sunday, an official said.

Fatah Central Committee member Muhammad al-Madani told Ma'an Saturday that Abbas would be hosting 170 student union representatives from various Israeli universities.

The Israeli youth come from diverse political backgrounds, al-Madani said, emphasizing that the meeting is a part of Abbas' outreach efforts toward Israeli society.

In the meeting, Abbas will reiterate the Palestinian Authority's commitment to a two-state solution and will defend Palestinian demands for a final solution, al-Madani said.

The meeting is scheduled to kick off at noon.

A very positive step except, it is 66 years late. By the time you convince the whole of Israel Jewish community of your stand, there will be no Palestine left to retrieve.

What? Abbas will surely get bullet in his head from a fellow Palestinian for daring to meet Israeli civilians and show that there is any normalization. The Palestinians clearly do not support dialog with Israelis, as witness to the many many articles here on Maan against peace and normalization.

#3/Brian Cohen: I read that Tippi Livni has also threatened President Abbas, so it's not just the Palestinian side he has to worry about! You never seem to promote much peace & normalisation either. At least those lucky young Isreali's will get to meet someone from outside the bubble, that is Isreal.
