BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Gas stations across the West Bank have begun refusing to fuel vehicles of the Palestinian Authority's security forces after the PA failed to pay their gas bills for last six months, according to the West Bank Union of Gas Station Owners.

Deputy speaker of the union Nizar al-Jaabari told Ma'an on Saturday that the PA's accumulated debts total 55 million shekels ($15.7 million).

Al-Jaabari said that the union had notified security forces and the Palestinian Ministry of Finance on Feb. 2, warning them that the debts need to be settled by Feb. 15 in order to ensure continued access to gas.

Al-Jaabari added that at the time the union told security forces and the finance ministry that gas stations would stop fueling vehicles belonging to the PA security forces if they did not receive the payments by Feb. 15.

Al-Jaabari highlighted that because the PA has not been paying for fuel, some gas stations have been unable to buy fuel for their daily needs.

LOL! Shucks! I'd've thought the PA would be getting UNLIMITED FREE gas/diesel from the Israeli's by now? Seeing as PA is Israel's W/B phalange proxy! That's not fair :( The PASF works really hard to protect Israel from fellow occupied(&relatively defenseless)Palestinians. And they don't get free occupation GAS? Bummer!Puppets who have to buy their own STRINGS? Tut!Tut! 'Free IDF gas for PA'!'Free IDF gas for PA! LOL!

This is outrageous, are you jumping up and down with indignation with the West Bank Union of Gas Station Owners,or are you Israel bashers saving that up for Israel?

With all the PA payments to terrorists, I can only hope the Israeli's will not be stupid enough to forgive some of the debt. Cut off supplies immediately.

Let the EU and US pay for the bills instead of subsidizing terror and genocidal school teaching.

I would think that if the PA would not give the realeased terrorist prisoners 46 million dollars, that would be able to pay some of their bills. What morons.

Why did the Israelis allow the bills to mount so high?

Anyone knows that people who live off other people's money, develop dependency on others that prevent them from learning responsible spending. Not only the PA has been funded almost entirely by outside funds, which reflects the overall Palestinian's attitude of victimhood and reliance on outside welfare (which the PA continues to promote), which started with UNRWA in 1948. As every person knows, the only way to get out from this culture of dependence on "welfare" is to face the harsh reality
