JENIN (Ma'an) -- Twenty people were injured in a gas leak incident in the northern West Bank on Sunday, the Palestinian Civil Defense Forces said in a statement.

The statement said that 20 people, including civil service workers, children, and a pregnant woman, inhaled poisonous gas in a workshop in the al-Laawi neighborhood near Fahma refugee camp in southern Jenin.

The injured were taken to Jenin hospitals for treatment.

According to the statement, the incident occurred after a gas tank used to power welding tools leaked acetylene gas into the workshop.
