GAZA CITY (Ma’an) -- A Palestinian wedding singer from the Gaza Strip is worried he will not be able to perform in the second stage of the singing competition X Factor Arabia scheduled to take place in Egypt in mid-March.

“My only wish is to be able to travel and perform during stage two of X Factor,” Mahmoud Abu Dawood told Ma’an on Monday. He explained that he has been trying to travel via Rafah crossing but it isn’t easy to travel because the terminal is closed most of the time and priority is given to other cases.

He highlighted that he was accepted to stage two of the competition after his performance during the auditioning stage in October 2013 impressed the judges. Stage two will take place in Egypt in mid-March and the finals will be held in Lebanon and broadcasted live on MTV in April.

Abu Dawood says he hopes President Mahmoud Abbas could intervene and help him travel to Egypt via the Rafah crossing so he can “realize his dream.”

Good Luck with X Factor Arabia. I hope that President Abbas will intervene on your behalf & ask the authorities to let you cross into Egypt for the second stage of the competition. Gazan's have dreams like everyone else, may yours be fulfilled too. Bring Gaza to the world Mahmoud Abu Dawood, I hope you are successful.

The key to access Rafah border is to let the Egyptian Mukhabarat know that he is going to sing for the support of the Field Marshal Sisi. Instant green light.

Good luck Mahmoud! The ironic thing is that S.Cowell (X-factor boss) is pulling XF off USA TV(FAUX FOX),& taking it back to UK!
It looks like'American Idol'is in its last series too?
#2:Khalil:"Green light",lol!I like it!Appropriate for Saudi's flag color considering Sisi is in Riyadh's pocket!
Mahmoud could ask Sisi if he'd accompany him on stage? It could be a Sisi
election-campaign song, when he swaps his military costume for silk suit of oppression(like Mubarak)!Good luck Mahmoud
