BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) – A Palestinian refugee has been tortured to death by the Syrian regime’s intelligence and three others died of malnutrition and lack of healthcare in the blockaded Yarmouk refugee camp in the outskirts of the Syrian capital Damascus, a monitoring group says.

The Workforce for Palestinians in Syria said in a statement Tuesday that Mahmoud Muhammad Mawid had been detained five months ago in al-Mazza neighborhood of Damascus. He was reported dead on Monday.

The group added that 5-year-old Raghad Muhammad al-Masri, 85-year-old Hamid Salih and Muhammad Hussein Kayid Zaghmout died on Monday of hunger and lack of healthcare.

The statement quoted a spokesman of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command Anwar Raja as saying that the withdrawal of Palestinian gunmen from the Yarmouk camp will start soon.

The statement highlighted that fierce clashes continued in Daraa refugee camp between rebels of the Free Syrian Army and Syrian regime’s forces for the third day. Shells have been fired repeatedly into the camp causing serious damage to buildings and streets.

The regime’s forces detained 24-year-old Osama Mashharawi, a Syrian from Palestinian origin, on Saturday.

In addition, a Palestinian engineer in his 50s named Tariq Muhammad Zaydan was detained from his home in al-Aedeen refugee camp in Homs.

Palestinians are dying needless deaths in Syria. They are being blown up, shot, tortured and starved. Yet there is no flotilla going to Syria. There is no worldwide protest. There are no calls to boycott and divest or impose more sanctions on Syria. Why? If the BDS movement is allegedly supporting Palestinians, why does it not care about Palestinian lives? Clearly, the BDS movement has nothing to do with supporting Palestine, but everything to do with anti-Israel hatred.

Ask yourself Brian, why Zionism is quietly colluding with this Wahhabi/NATO proxy war on a relatively stable, pluralistic sovereign state where Alawites were very useful to Israel's ends previously, while Zionism FILLED up Syria's/Jordan's refugee camps,or just slaughtered Palestinians? Are you happy,Brian, that AQ,Salafists,Arab-fascists armed by Saudi's are doing Zionism's fascist job, regionally, pulling this coup? How does that keep Israel safe? I don't want to overtax your simian brain,Brian!

Brian, if Israel allowed these Palestinian refugees to return to their true homeland, they wouldn't be dying needless deaths..

To Brian Cohen #1: 'They are being blown up, shot, tortured and starved. Yet there is no flotilla going to Syria. There is no worldwide protest. ' Actually, quite a bit of aid does go into Syria. Otherwise, at least we aren't arming the Syrian regime to the teeth, giving it billions of dollars in aid a year, and protecting it from all international censure.

To Brian Cohen #1: 'Clearly, the BDS movement has nothing to do with supporting Palestine, but everything to do with anti-Israel hatred.' Surely, the way to help Palestinians is to get them back into Palestine. It's hardly going to work out to try to help them to settle down in the midst of a civil war. But hey, ISRAEL could do something here, couldn't she? Let these Palestinians return to their homes, for example.

To Brian Cohen #1: 'There is no worldwide protest. There are no calls to boycott and divest or impose more sanctions on Syria. Why?' See 'Kerry slams Russia for 'enabling' Assad to stay in power.' Perhaps this indifference is only in your imagination. Tell us about US support for Assad, Brain. Maybe we should make sure the aid we give him and Israel are the same? Would that be a fair start?

@3 Dear Deena, even if Israel and the people of the Jewish faith did not exist, Arabs would still be killing each other, never be confused on that fact in your future posts.
