HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained a young Palestinian man at the main entrance to the southern West Bank town of Beit Ummar north of Hebron Saturday night, a local spokesperson told Ma'an.

Atiyeh Fathi Muheisin Awad, 25 was waiting in his car for his brother at the entrance to Beit Ummar when Israeli soldiers approached him and forced him to step out, spokesman for Beit Ummar's local committee against settlement activities Muhammad Ayyad Awad told Ma'an.

Atiyeh and another man, 46-year-old Ahmad Khalil Abu Hashim, were held for more than two hours. The soldiers then released Abu Hashim and took Atiyeh into custody.

He was taken in a military vehicle to Etzion detention center.

An Israeli military spokeswoman had no information about the detention.

Beit Ummar is known as a center for Palestinian aggression and hundreds (if not thousands) of attacks on Israeli motorists on Hwy 60 that passes the town. The town is also known for its aggressive youth who are competitive on throwing rocks and molotov cocktails trying to kill Israeli drivers, and gaining the "badge of honour" for being arrested.

beit Ummar is known as the village where almost every funeral procession is disturbed by teargas from crazy Israeli soldiers.it is known as the village where so much land has been confiscated for the 6 surrounded settlements, that there is hardly land left for people to provide for their families. It is known as the village where almost every night crazy Israeli soldiers harras people in their own houses, arrests on a daily base. it is known for Israeli agression towards the villagers.

It is known that Terese lives in Holland and I live near Beit Ummar where very little or no land was confiscated at all...in fact this area Gush Etzion is where Jews legally owned the land before 1948 when Arabs launched a war and massacred the Jews who were protecting their lands.

#2: Terese, thank you for presenting such a balanced view of the situation in Beit Ummar. It is so welcoming to hear an objective voice, a voice that speaks out on behalf of the people of Beit Ummar, a voice that brings light to a dark world. We are so grateful.

Anyhow if people want to be confirmed that Brian is nothing more than a lying settler thug, you just need to google Beit Ummar - land confiscation. There's even a wiki-leak: Pro-Consul Jake Walles quoting a report by B'Tselem on land confiscation around Gush Etzion. Brian, kul khara wa mut ! .
