HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces blocked the entrance to the village of Beit Ummar near Hebron with piles of dirt and cement blocks on Friday.

Spokesman for the popular resistance committee in Beit Ummar Mohammad Ayyad Awad said that Israeli bulldozers closed the entrance to the village, which is adjacent to the main road connecting Jerusalem and Hebron.

Awad added that Israeli forces arrested Ikhdeir Yousef Ikhdeir Muheisen, 18, from the village after raiding and ransacking his house on Thursday evening.

Awad said that a Molotov cocktail was also thrown at a an Israeli military jeep, but no injuries were reported.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said that she knew of no detentions in Beit Ummar, but that Israeli forces were carrying out "construction work" on the main road into the village.
