NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Two Palestinian Authority security officers were injured late Tuesday during clashes after a soccer game in the northern West Bank.

Security officials told Ma'an that clashes broke out following a league game between a team from Balata refugee camp and a team from Qalqiliya.

Fans from the Balata camp team clashed with locals in Nablus, with mobs from both sides throwing stones at each other for over two hours near the Old City.

Palestinian riot police intervened to disperse the crowds, with two officers injured as a result.

Nearby roads were blocked for over two hours as rioters burned tires.
