JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces on Wednesday detained Palestinian lawyer Amr Iskafi in Jerusalem, a local committee said.
Israeli intelligence officers summoned Iskafi for questioning at the Russian Compound center in West Jerusalem. He was arrested upon arrival at the center and taken to a magistrates court where a judge decided to hold him until Monday.
The same Jerusalem court also extended the detention of East Jerusalem lawyers Nadim Gharib, Mahmoud Abu Sneina, Amjad Safadi and Shirin Issawi.
They will appear in court again on Monday.
Local committee officials said Israeli forces have been targeting Jerusalem lawyers on false charges.
