NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces on Wednesday detained two young Palestinian men in al-Sawiya south of Nablus after opening fire toward them, a Palestinian official said.

Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors settler activity in the northern West Bank, told Ma’an that Salman Riyadh Hijazi and another unidentified man were arrested and taken to an unknown destination.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said two people approached a settlement and were detained. She said one was released and the other was held for questioning.

The spokeswoman said forces guarding the settlement fired warning shots in the air.

Neither side reported injuries.
