Haniyeh advisor: Abbas to visit Gaza if unity government formed

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Gaza Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh's advisor Issam al-Daalees expects president Mahmoud Abbas to visit the Gaza Strip if the unity government is formed in the next five weeks, as agreed upon on Wednesday as part of a national reconciliation agreement.

Al-Daalees told al-Rai news agency that "if the unity government is formed, it is expected of Abbas to visit Gaza."

I can't help being cynical re:Abbas' moves!He's spent YEARS essentially as an Israeli"Good occupied Arab'.He knew,in advance,about Israel's "Operation Cast Lead"attack on blockaded CIVILIAN Gaza in 2008/9 & didn't cherish the idea of entering "Gaza riding on an Israeli tank"(post Dahlan's coup-attempt).I only hope Abbas seeks NATIONAL UNITY & not factional tricks! Not when 167 NATIONS in the UN are pro-Palestine &its protection under international laws/UN Resols from OCCUPATION &eradication!!!
