GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Gaza Prime Minister Ismail Hanieyh said Sunday that Palestinians have only one home and one land which is Palestine, and he rejected any alternative proposal.

Haniyeh said the Palestinians would not accept any form of compensation or naturalization into another country.

In a visit to the Jordanian Field Hospital, he said that “we, as Palestinians, have one home and one land which is Palestine. This is our response to the American-Zionist conspiracies that target Palestine and Jordan.”

Haniyeh reiterated his rejection of any proposals to give Palestinian refugees the nationalities of their hosts, or to provide an alternative state for Palestinians east of the Jordan River.

“We emphasize the right to return for all Palestinians everywhere, and we support our Jordanian brothers in Jordan to respond to all conspiracies.”

Well said PM Haniyeh. Any Palestinian wishing to return, should be able to return to Palestine!

Does that mean the refugees abandon their right to return even to the territorries occupied after 1967?

How can the fate of the refugees be decided when no borders have been set, especially regarding post 67 occupied land. E. Jerusalem belongs to Palestine. Israel should be able to some cede land to accommodate the refugees returning back to Palestine. If/when negotiating borders, I'd also look at making space for returnee's & ROR at the same time, where that option is consented to. I agree with Haniyeh, bring Palestinian's home to Palestine.

#2: No, not at all. They must decide what would constitute 'Palestine' in a final agreement (either all pre 67 border land, or, pre 67 border land with swops). However: they must also factor in those with ROR, meaning our non Arab friends may need to cede some extra land to accommodate. Compensation would also be expected to enable people to return to Palestine.
