CAIRO (Ma'an) -- Egyptian authorities will open Rafah crossing on Tuesday and Wednesday to allow medical and humanitarian cases out of Gaza after President Mahmoud Abbas’ request.

Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt Barakat al-Farra thanked Egypt for its concern and said it reflected the country's desire to ease the suffering of the people in Gaza.

Egyptian authorities have closed the crossing for over a month, and the regime only opens it on Sundays and Mondays for pilgrims and Gazans stranded in the country.
