HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Video footage of an Israeli soldier in Hebron aiming his gun at a Palestinian teenager was posted online Sunday by a local activist group.

Youth Against Settlements posted the video clip on YouTube under the title "Attempting to shoot a minor."

The footage shows an Israeli soldier harassing a Palestinian teenager and pushing him away before drawing and cocking his assault rifle after another teenager walked behind him.

The soldier is then filmed shouting insults at both teenagers before kicking one of them in the leg.

He then threatens to put a "bullet in the head" of a third man filming the event unless he stops.

The Israeli soldier was reportedly from Battalion 932 of the Nahal Brigade and has now been reassigned, according to Haaretz.

A 1997 agreement split Hebron into areas of Palestinian and Israeli control.

The Israeli military-controlled H2 zone includes the ancient Old City, home of the revered Ibrahimi Mosque -- also split into a synagogue referred to as the Tomb of the Patriarchs -- and the once thriving Shuhada street, now just shuttered shops fronts and closed home

Around 800 Jewish settlers live in Hebron's Old City, among 30,000 Palestinians in the parts of the city that are under Israeli control.

Settler violence against Palestinians in Hebron is routine, with Israeli soldiers rarely intervening to prevent attacks.

Israel's military is often involved in arbitrary assaults on Palestinians in the city, locals say.

I "Watch" as MAAN News
continues to INCITE HATRED, and
I Wish that your news would become part of the solution,
instead of remaining PART OF THE PROBLEM, just
so that it can sell more papers !!

Telling the truth is not inciting violence. I thank MAAN News everyday because I get the truth here. Violence is what the israeli soldier did to unarmed child not doing anything wrong. israel incites violence against Palestinians. It then happens at random to the truly innocent.

#1 So why was the the apartheid Israeli soldier threatening to shoot the the person with the camera? Afraid of the truth perhaps?

Bravo to Youth Against Settlements for being brave enough to film and post this on You Tube. It must be horrible to live under military occupation like that. It also looks like the soldier is suffering from combat stress.

You can clearly see the brass knuckles on the other "teen-terrorist" hands, who comes behind him, possible to knock him unconscious. Had the soldier not draw his weapon to make them back off he would be as good as dead.

This is such a distortion of the truth. To those who say the teenager did nothing wrong - clearly he was taunting the soldier and what about the other teenager with brass knuckles in his right hand. The soldier acted appropriately and in self defence and diffused the situation. However, what I find most striking is that if you look at all the people around no one is actually terrified of the soldier with the drawn weapon, including a whole lot of children. I bet that most people will be scared.

That is right Shane; something that has escaped most observers of the vdo. Those around the soldiers are unafraid and even linger around to antagonise and provoke. Clearly they know that the Israeli soldiers will act with restraint. Try doing the same some place else in the Middle East............

The youth did provoke the soldier by taunting to be sure, but that is to be expected from people who are OCCUPIED. The burden of the occupier is to be above the anger displayed by the occupied; otherwise it loses any claim to remaining an occupying force.

To danny #10: 'Clearly they know that the Israeli soldiers will act with restraint. Try doing the same some place else in the Middle East...' Izzat a fact? Considering the IDF's record of massacres, casual murders, etc, I wouldn't count on 'restraint.' Furthermore, what happens in other countries is their own affair. Here we're discussing the behavior of an armed invader we subsidize to the tune of three billion dollars a year. It's pretty much a unique case.

To @ #1: ' MAAN News continues to INCITE HATRED, and I Wish that your news would become part of the solution...' That is to say, you want Ma'an news to become a propaganda outlet for the occupation. That would be a pretty typical Zionist expectation.
