GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israeli authorities will close the Erez, or Beit Hanoun, crossing with the Gaza Strip on Monday and Tuesday, a Palestinian official told Ma'an.

The crossing is expected to be partially closed on Monday, except for those traveling from the Israeli side, and completely closed on Tuesday as Israel marks its independence day on May 6, crossings official Raed Fattouh said.

Meanwhile, the Rafah crossing will be open on Monday to allow pilgrims to make their way to Saudi Arabia.

Around 400 Palestinian pilgrims are scheduled to travel Monday, while 152 returned to the Gaza Strip via Rafah on Sunday.
