Israeli police detain 2 Palestinian women in Aqsa compound

JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli police officers detained two Palestinian women in the al-Aqsa mosque compound on Tuesday, witnesses told Ma'an.

Locals named the women as Majidah Hawwash and Almazah Ibrahim. Both are students of Islamic studies.

The circumstances surrounding their arrest is unclear.

According to Imemc: The arrest came after dozens of Israeli settlers invaded the yards of the al-Aqsa Mosque. The army claimed the two (women) were chanting “Allahu Akbar”, and moved them to the police station.
