New Palestinian ambassador presents credentials in Sri Lanka

RAMALLAH (Ma’an) – The new Palestinian ambassador in Sri Lanka, Zuheir Hamadallah Zaid, presented his credentials to the Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa on Tuesday.

Zaid greeted the Sri Lankan president on behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas and passed along the appreciation of the Palestinian people and leadership for what he called Sri Lanka's support of Palestinian rights.

Rajapaksa welcomed the new Palestinian ambassador and emphasized Sri Lanka's support for Palestinian rights, namely in having their own independent country.

Sri Lanka deputy minister of external affairs Neomal Perera and the president’s secretary were present at the meeting.
