RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- A high-ranking security official told Ma'an that the Palestinian Authority is considering ceasing security contact with Israel after the killing of two young Palestinians earlier on Thursday in Ramallah.

The official said that the Israeli escalation on Thursday which led to the deadly shooting of two Palestinians, and the critical injury of another in Ramallah, is ignoring international laws, and the Palestinian people's right to self-determination.

This, in addition to the continued settlement activity and other daily violations to Palestinians, their property and land, led the Palestinian leadership to consider this step, he added.

The Palestinian Authority and Israel currently maintain extensive security coordination, largely targeting what Israel determines to be anti-Israel militant activity.

I think it would be OK with Israel - they can protect and defend Israeli citizens. But I am sure that the losing side will be Palestinians again as always, because if there is no security coordination in place, there will be no more jobs in Israel for Palestinians and no more traveling through Israeli air, sea and land transportation hubs. Other words, Palestinians will be treated as foreign nationals and will be allowed to enter Israel only after they clear security clearance and on visa basis.

'The Palestinian Authority and Israel currently maintain extensive security coordination, largely targeting what Israel determines to be anti-Israel militant activity.' Define 'ghetto police.'

Palestinian leadership should be VERY careful regarding potential unintended consequences should they move forward with such a move. Like the limitation of workers entering Israel. Like reductions in power sent to the West Bank. Like restriction or elimination of internet and smart phone bandwidth. All of these potential Israeli moves will enhance Palestinian self-determination, but not in ways Palestinians will like.

Dismantle the PA immediately! Remove israel's veil of impunity! Foment resistance, don't strangle it!

Don't have violent demonstrations and you won't end up with dead demonstrators.

The Palestinians will not be greeted with flowers when the security cooperation ceases. But the Israeli's have to deploy more than 50,000 soldiers to secure the WB. This also means that another 50,000 will be getting ready to deploy for rotation. The PNA has been subsidizing The Occupation for two decades. If you do the math this will cost hundreds of millions of Shekels a month! Dear Palestinians Freedom is only given to those who are willing to show that they are willing to pay for it!

Good! In fact PA may as well close up shop if they really want Palestine more that the Zionist Occupation does.PA was an Israeli creation any way( always needing a 'Good Arab' proxy). But PLO,Fatah,Hamas,I/J,PFLP etc,are ALL branches on the same tree of PALESTINE,not a branch of their oppressors/occupiers! What ever happens, incld.unity,Israel still has plans to collectively punish ALL Palestinians equally if they RESIST subjugation. What price freedom?? Priceless!

Re Security and Outlier: the Zionists obviously don't like this. Either (a) they are concerned for what would be best for the Palestinians, or (b) it makes them nervous. You pick.

#4 "Palestinian leadership should be VERY careful..." Do cheap threats, enumerated with sadistic glee, give you a boner or something, Outlier. Rhetorical. No need to answer.

The more self determination that Palestine gets the better. Let the occupation pay for the security, because Palestinian security forces (who no longer jump to the Zionist tune) will be greeted with roses for sure. Only small concern would be about any unforeseen attempts at heroism by would be muqawama, leading to escalation in clashes with Israeli forces.
