BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- A high-ranking official told Ma’an that the Ramallah reconciliation court sentenced former Fatah leader Mohammad Dahlan to two years in prison for libel, slander, and defamation.

The source, who requested anonymity, said that Dahlan was charged with defaming legal institutions and state agencies but did not elaborate on the details of the alleged crimes.

The source added that Dahlan has 10 days to appeal the ruling, and if he does not it will be carried out.

However, Dahlan has been living outside Palestine since 2011 when he was ousted from Fatah.

Palestinian democracy hard at work shutting up the opposition, suppressing dissent and ensuring the continuation of cronyism and corruption. Julie and Maureen must be smiling because this is what they have been demanding for years: Palestinian freedom to be ruled by typical Arab dictators.

Brian, you're so stupid! Palestinian democracy has always been crushed by Israel applying cruel, inhuman, degrading punishment on all who VOTE for freedom. And,you conveniently forget that Dahlan was/is an Israeli proxy who attempted a Zionist-OK'd COUP on Gaza,post-elections,for Occupation-proxy Abbas to ride in,to Gaza,on an Israeli "chariot" with his "laurel-wreath"on his head &Dahlan riding side-kick.All for Jewish expansion. And then u speak of'democracy' while living in a Judocracy for Jews!LOL

Oh dear, looks like Dahlan won't be riding anywhere near Palestine in the near future. I guess all those dreams of a high ranking political career are also now in tatters, no laurel leaves here. Still, it looks like there is a tiny bit of justice in the world after all. Now why does Dahlan look worried in the picture? Mmm, interesting thought, probably not a tinge of conscience, that's for sure.

Re Brian Cohen #2: 'Palestinian democracy hard at work shutting up the opposition, suppressing dissent and ensuring the continuation of cronyism and corruption...' Good one, Brain. Dahlan himself was the epitome of cronyism and corruption -- and you argue that expelling him encourages it? I also have the impression that he was an Israeli Quisling -- which your eagerness to defend him goes some way to confirm.

#4:Thayer/France:"look worried"? LOL! He's probably thinking,"Now,where did I put that diary & tape-recorder,with all those names,dates &telephone- message transcripts,from Mossad &PA Ramallah?Damn, I need to see a publisher,quick! If I'm going down,they're going down with me!!"
Look out for the 'Devil-Dahlan's Diaries'?
