NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Unidentified suspects on Tuesday threw a homemade explosive device at the office of an electric company in the northern West Bank, the company said.

"We condemn this assault of throwing a bomb on our company's branch in (the Ras al-Ain neighborhood of) Nablus," a statement from Northern Electricity Distribution Company said.

"Consequently, we declare an open suspension of work in the company starting today and we demand President Mahmoud Abbas, Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, the ministry of interior, all security services, and Nablus governor Jibrin al-Bakri investigate the incident and find the culprit."

The motives behind the attack, in addition to the extent of the damages it caused, were not immediately clear.

NEDCO provides electricity to the northern West Bank.
