NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Palestinian police officers intervened on Saturday afternoon to rescue a man who was being followed by a large crowd in the center of Nablus in the northern West Bank.

Police sources told Ma'an that a young man in his twenties was seen wearing tight leggings around Martyrs' Square in the city center.

Dozens of young men began to follow the man, who was not from Nablus, and verbally harassed him before police officers intervened and took him into custody. The police freed him later.

The story, however, went viral on Facebook.
