BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- United States Secretary of State John Kerry is scheduled to start a two-day visit to Jordan Wednesday where he will meet with Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas, Jordanian daily newspaper al-Arab al-Yawm reported Sunday.

The report quoted a "high-profile" Jordanian official as saying that Abbas and Kerry will discuss the currently suspended Palestinian-Israeli peace talks, the ongoing unity talks between Hamas and Fatah, and the expected unity government, among other issues.

Kerry will also meet with Jordanian officials, the newspaper quoted the official as saying.

Asked whether Kerry would leave Amman to Israel for a meeting with Israeli premier Netanyahu, the Jordanian official said that "preparations have been made so far for a visit to Amman, and any changes to the visit plans would be dependent on Kerry's meeting with president Abbas."

The meeting comes just over a month after US-led Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations fell apart after nearly nine months due to continued Israeli settlement construction and Israel's refusal to release a fourth group of Palestinian prisoners as previously promised.

Kerry is meeting on behalf of Israel considering that by Monday unity govt will be formed and Israel would have cut contact by then. US always does Israel's dirty work. Laughable.

* SECRETARY KERRY SHOULD INFORM PRESIDENT ABBAS, that Unless the new government's Hamas component does three things: 1- Renounces "Armed Resistance" & Terrorism, 2- Promises to remove calls for "Israel's Destruction" from it's Charter, & 3- Accepts Negotiations as the Route to Palestinian Statehood, * THE US WILL END FINANCIAL & POLITICAL SUPPORT FOR PALESTINE.

Kerry which represent the US government is in conflict with AIPAC and the powerful Israeli lobby in the US government. While Israel depends on AIPAC for support, the White House under Obama wants to continue the talks to achieve peace so to avoid another regional war due to continue radical behavior on Israel to refuse peace. He might succeed to convince Israel sponsors to stop feeding Israel financially if they threat the stability of the area, which they are.
