JERUSALEM (Ma’an) – Arab students at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem demonstrated on Sunday in support of the Palestinian administrative prisoners on hunger strike in Israeli jails.

Dozens of students gathered on the entrance of the students’ residence holding Palestinian flags and slogans calling for the liberation of prisoners and protecting them.

Prisoners on hunger strike began their 40 day of strike the same day.

Many of them are in danger as they refuse any medications or vitamins because of the "brutal" ways that the doctors of prisons use with sick prisoners to foil their strike.

Prisoners face daily torture and violence, solidarity confinements, medical neglect and they are prevented from receiving breaks, visits and letters, advocates say.

Prisons’ authorities confiscated the prisoners’ possessions including clothes and blankets; they have been wearing the same clothes for over a month.

40 days of hunger strikes, the same time frame Jesus fasted in the wilderness. Now, that is truly awesome the opportunity to behold how these courageous unlawfully imprisoned Palestinian hunger strikers resemble Jesus, as they struggle against Injustice in Palestine.
