GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Banks in the Gaza Strip will re-open Wednesday, Hamas political bureau member Moussa Abu Marzouq said Tuesday.

He added that the salary crisis in Gaza would be resolved by the end of the month.

Abu Marzouq said in a meeting with mayors and dignitaries in northern Gaza that banks would re-open for Palestinian Authority employees on Wednesday.

He added that Gaza employees who were hired during the Hamas government rule will receive the salaries in the coming few days.

Correction, June 11: An earlier version of this story said that Abu Marzouq issued a statement with his remarks. In fact, he was quoted during a political meeting with mayors and dignitaries in northern Gaza.

NO public employees that work for a government that both -1- begs for (unreliable) international donations, and -2- refuses to talk with the state that collects it's taxes, from which employee salaries are paid, should expect to receive a salary at all, much less regularly and systematically ever !!

It shouldn't matter which factions Gazans belong to.They all work hard &long for near to nothing,if they're lucky to even have work. Israel saw to it that the collective punishment included economic"diet"(unemployed/poverty).As Palestinian nationals, factions must come second to national UNITY! Don't let Israel 'fragment'(divide &rule)Palestine any more. One solid body!
