JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces on Tuesday afternoon raided al-Issawiya village and erected a flying checkpoint in its streets and entrances for the third day in a row.

The village’s monitoring committee member Mohammed Abu al-Homs said dozens of Israeli soldiers raided the village, were deployed in its alleys, and were covered by a helicopter.

Abu al-Homs said that Israeli forces stopped and “provoked” villagers by taking their IDs, which led to clashes between the two parties in which Israeli forces fired stun grenades and rubber-coated steel bullets.

He added that the windshield of 10 cars were damaged after being struck directly by stun grenades.

Tensions had been rising in the village as Israeli forces raided it in the last three days, he said.
