GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israel has refused to grant Palestinian businessman Munib al-Masri a permit to visit the Gaza Strip.

Al-Masri told Ma'an that he was planning to travel to Gaza to oversee arrangements for an investment conference scheduled to be held in November.

The main goal of the conference is to encourage entrepreneurs from Palestine and other Arab countries to invest in projects in the Gaza Strip.

It is really shameful that thuggish Israeli leaders refused permission to Munib al-Masri, a man of peace, to visit Gaza. It is time the international community which, through its undue pampering, has made Israel a land of fanatical, arrogant, murderous, land-grabbing leaders and people, put a bit of pressure on them to make them behave and not undermine a two-state solution, which is the only practical solution to the problem. World should note it is Israel that blocks a peaceful solution.

(first comment spiked) As he has another route option to Gaza, Israel has no obligation to provide passage.
