GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Eighty percent of gas stations in Gaza are out of fuel and the other 20 percent are sufficient for only half a day, the director of the local Gas Station Owners Union told Ma'an on Saturday.

Mahmoud Shawwa said all gas stations would shut down Saturday afternoon, and that all stations were out of diesel fuel.

Israel closed the Kerem Shalom crossing, the only connection for fuel to enter the besieged coastal enclave, after three Israeli settlers went missing in the Hebron area late Thursday.

Shawwa highlighted that the continued closure of Kerem Shalom would paralyze life in the Gaza Strip.

The Gaza Strip has been under a severe economic blockade imposed by Israel since 2007.

The blockade was imposed following the victory of Hamas in the 2006 Palestinian elections and the subsequent 2007 clashes between Fatah and Hamas, which left Hamas in control of the Strip and Fatah in control of the West Bank.

The blockade has severely limited the imports and exports of the Gaza Strip and has led to frequent humanitarian crises and hardship for Gazans.

Paltimes website has several pictures of Gazans handing out sweets and celebrating the kidnapping just like they did after 9/11. It is hard to imagine a more morally depraved people .

To Either Walk, or To Accept Peace With Israel, on terms acceptable to Israel, starting with unconditional peace talks, while settlements build !!

To bad. Gaza is small enough that they can walk or take their donkey. Or in the absolute worst possible case they could get their government Hamas to agree to peace talks, which would force Israel to open the borders a bit. But then again, that's simply too much to expect - that Hamas would want peace instead of war. Therefore, they continue to shoot rockets and arm themselves instead of making peace.

#3 - You really believe your lies Brian, don't you. Think back a month or so, Hamas ceded power in Gaza & backed the formation of a technocratic, unity government. After this point, your PM Netanyahu got all upset & tried everything possible to break up the new government. Up to now, your PM refuses to have anything to do with Hamas, so how do you expect them to agree to peace talks? Peace comes to those who want it, not to those who sit sulking. Olive branches exist in Palestine, but in Israel?

Al hamdulliah, Allah swt gave us many things, including feet & donkeys to enable us to walk & transport ourselves. Mock all you will, but in Gaza we live with our heads up, we don't kneel in the face of oppression. If the Zionists wish to talk peace with Hamas, they need to show they mean it. Halt settlement building temporarily & show some leniency to our hunger striking administrative detainees. Hamas have bravely defended Gaza & now they have the capability to bring peace to all in shah Allah

Arrest every Hamas member together with their family, cease all hamas assets , close all Hamas buildings and cease everthing they have, then expell every Hamas head unto the sinai dessert
