GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip demonstrate Israeli "confusion" amid an ongoing search to find three Israeli settlers missing in the West Bank, the Hamas movement said Saturday.

Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said in a statement that Israel's targeting of the al-Qassam Brigades military base in the southern Gaza Strip reflects "deterioration of the morale of the Israeli leadership."

"The Israeli leadership is attempting to repair its morale after the incident in Hebron," Barhoum said, referring to the disappearance of three Jewish settlers from the southern West Bank in what some believe may have been a kidnapping.

The Israeli army said it launched airstrikes on two military sites in southern Gaza on Saturday in response to rockets fired from the Strip into Israel.

No injuries from either strike were reported.

Actually the kidnapping of the three Israelis will reflect badly on Hamas if they do not try to have them released. Hamas is now the government.

Israel's angry because Hamas agreed to national unity, but also stated it would(correctly)continue to resist Israel's military occupation.Gilad Shalit was held as POW,after Israeli INCURSION into Gaza, breaking cease-fire.Israel's command always breaks ceasefires first, using young teenage soldiers as ideological PAWNS!It bombed Gaza, with Gilad THERE!Palestine retaliates against Israel's brutality on POW's,IOF incursions &collective punishment(war crimes).Resistance is a right, occupation is NOT!

Hamas is morally confused all the time. Its organization applauds the kidnapping of three unarmed Israeli teenagers returning from school. It has fired over 10,000 rockets at Israeli civilians. But when it comes to meeting the Israeli enemy in the field its fighters scurry to underground bunkers to wait out the battle. Their leaders are bellicose but dress in women's clothing when war comes. If Israel had leaders like Gaza does there would have been no Israel.

Netahyahu will do anything to undermine the Fatah/Hamas reconciliation & bring the PA back under Israeli control. Hamas has every right to state it will continue resistance against Israeli military occupation. Both Gaza & the unity government need to remain strong. They now have the legitimate means to bring an end to the brutal occupation of their land. Focus & move forwards, don't be distracted by what Fawzi Barhoum correctly calls: "deterioration of the morale of the Israeli leadership".

Arnold/Canada Is Canada also investigating like "Israel"? The boys are missing, IDF didn't know their names and didn't have pictures (this information was only released today) but... IDF already knows Hamas kidnapped them? They already arresting and attacking Palestinians. On what ground? O I forgot, IDF soldiers are mind-readers, they never need any proof. Maybe they are killed by their family? Maybe they did have enemies? Maybe they just run away from home?

#1:'Hamas is now the government.'? Arnie-schmarnie! Are you on drugs or something? Hamas &the DFA of Gaza just handed 2/3rds governance responsibility to Abbas(Israel's 'Good Arab'turned 'Bad-Arab'proxy).The DFA is glad to cede control to PA-Fatah,to expose its corrupt incompetence.IMH is now just a national-unity entity, ready for elections, albeit still under Israeli-blockade/occupation,yet still committed to defensive resistance...repeat defensive resistance!

@5) Or maybe Israel kidnap them or have someone kidnap them to undermine the unity and have an excuse to challenge the new government. Israel is capable of anything as long as they can show to the world that the new government is still committed to destroy Israel, and Hamas is a terrorist organization. Unity or not the PA have to continue to challenge Israel occupation and Hamas is doing a good job at it.
