BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- The Israeli military expanded a campaign of arrests across the West Bank on Saturday night and Sunday morning, detaining 80 Palestinian individuals as part of a search for three disappeared settler youths.

The majority of the detained individuals were affiliated with Hamas and Islamic in some capacity, although their relationship to the case of the youth is unclear.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, however, has said that he hold the Palestinian Authority -- including Hamas -- responsible for the youths, who Israeli authorities believe have been kidnapped.

A spokesperson for the PA security forces said on Friday, however, that the PA was "not responsible" for protecting Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank, highlighting that the area in which the youths disappeared is under full Israeli control.

We are maintaining an initial list of the Palestinians detained over night, which will be updated as more names come in:

Why only 80? Why only arrested?

Special prayers being lifted up right now for each of these unlawfully detained Palestinians, who I know God's blessings are descending upon. I remind all that everyone persecuted for the sake of justice and righteousness is blessed by God. Zionists may persecute you, as God's Blessings envelope you. Find comfort and peace in God and His blessings. Certainly, that is a thing Zionists do not have.

Thoughtful of the PA media to keep lists of those arrested for their families' sake. How about an expression of concern for the Israeli boys, and a call for their immediate release? Big help you guys are--true peace partners.

The use of the word "arrest" in English implies some legal process. A better English word is "Internment" that was used in the illegal US detention of Japanese-Americans in World War II and used in Northern Ireland. In both cases there was no legal process before or after capture.

These kidnappings of Palestinians by the IDF are despicable terrorist acts committed by a criminal regime. Allowing your children to cross an international boundary into a zone of military conflict is also a despicable act. The parents of the missing boys should be pilloried. They are just as responsible for the fix their children are in as the kidnappers.
