RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces have detained over a hundred Palestinians in the West Bank since Saturday night, a prisoners' rights group said Sunday.

The Palestinian Prisoner's Society said that 46 have been detained in Hebron, 23 in Nablus, 16 in Ramallah, 12 in Jenin, four in Bethlehem, five in Tulkarem, five in Qalqiliya, five in Jerusalem, six in Tubas, and two in Salfit.

The Israeli army said earlier Sunday that its soldiers had detained approximately 80 Palestinians overnight amid a search for three teenagers who disappeared from nearby the Gush Etzion settlement Thursday night.

Comment published July 10, 2011: Israeli “Corporal Gilad Shalit was a soldier in uniform and armed when taken prisoner. Yes, his detention is tragic, but less so than the detention of each of the children as young as thirteen among Israel's 11,000 Palestinian prisoners. I suspect they mostly just want to see their parents again; if only Israel would tell their parents where they are."

Israel may have "detained 100 Palestinians since Saturday", when the * THREE ISRAELI BOYS WERE ABDUCTED, AND * ISRAEL MAY DETAIN 100 PALESTINIANS EVERY WEEK, * UNTIL THE THREE ISRAELI BOYS ARE RELEASED, and regardless of how many call it "collective punishment", and others will call it "appropriate & just", it will continue !!
