RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah met with German politician Gregor Gysi on Monday in Ramallah.
Hamdallah updated Gysi, a member of the left-wing Die Linke party, on the recent killing of a Palestinian man in al-Jalazun refugee camp and the arrest campaign currently taking place in the southern West Bank.
Hamdallah called on Europe to intervene to stop Israeli attacks on Palestinians and to protect hunger-strikers in Israeli jails.
The PM thanked Germany for backing the recently formed unity government and reiterated that the Palestinians are seeking an independent state on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
