3 injured by rubber-coated bullets in Beit Ummar clashes

HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Three Palestinians were injured by rubber-coated bullets during clashed with Israeli forces in the Hebron district on Monday, a local popular committee spokesman said.

Muhammed Ayyad Awad told Ma'an that seven Israeli military vehicles entered Beit Ummar north of Hebron, and that Palestinian youths hurled rocks at the vehicles.

Clashes broke out between the youths and Israeli forces, and three Palestinians were injured by rubber-coated bullets while others suffered from excessive tear gas inhalation, Awad said.

An Israeli army spokesperson said a few dozen Palestinians were hurling rocks, and security forces responded with riot-control measures.
