RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces have detained over 500 Palestinians since the beginning of the ongoing military search operation in the West Bank, the Palestinian Prisoners' Society said late Monday.
PPS said that as of Monday evening, Israeli forces had detained 529 Palestinians throughout the operation -- 179 from the Hebron district, 87 from the Nablus district, 75 from Bethlehem, 52 from Jenin, 49 from Ramallah, 36 from East Jerusalem, 23 from Tulkarem, 13 from Qalqiliya, seven from Tubas, seven from Salfit, and one from Jericho.
Tuesday marks the 12th day since three Israeli teenagers disappeared from Gush Etzion settlement near Bethlehem.
The military operation to find the missing Israelis and dismantle Hamas' infrastructure is widely considered to be the most extensive deployment in the West Bank since the Second Intifada.
Israeli forces have killed five Palestinians and injured dozens throughout the operation.
