GAZA CITY (AFP) -- Any Israeli action to punish Hamas for the alleged murder of three teenagers whose bodies were found on Monday would open "the gates of hell," the Islamist movement warned.

"If the occupiers carry out an escalation or a war, they will open the gates of hell on themselves," Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri told AFP.

The warning came shortly after Israel confirmed finding the bodies of the three students who disappeared while hitchhiking in the southern West Bank on June 12.

The bodies were found in a field near Halhul some 10 minutes from the roadside spot where they were last seen, media reports said.

Israel has repeatedly accused Hamas of kidnapping the teens, two of whom were minors, and launched a major crackdown on the movement's West Bank infrastructure.

Hamas has dismissed the Israeli allegations as "stupid" with Abu Zuhri accusing Israel of fabricating the kidnapping as an excuse to crack down on the Islamist movement.

"The disappearance and murder of the three Israelis is only based on the Israeli narrative, and the occupation is trying to use this story to justify its extensive war against our people, against resistance and against Hamas," he charged.

Any "Hamas warnings" are obviously meaningless, since: -1- "Any Israeli attack" happened today, yesterday, and the day before that, and most likely will happen tomorrow and the next day too, and -2- If Hamas could "open the gates of hell" it would have done so !!

Meanwhile what did Hamas do to try to help find the boys. Absolutely nothing. If Hamas was not involved but other Pakestiniabs were then Hamas should have done something. Saying they were not involved and doing nothing is bull.

Palistinians really do need new leadership. Their present leaders have major hatred problems with Israel

Indeed it will, almost entirely in Gaza. Bravado is a fine cover for fear, which should be Hamas' primary emotion right now.

Hamas always acts the ("escalation" murder) way, that it expects from Israel. However, Jews value all life, unlike Muslims. And, even though There will NEVER be PEACE, BUT there can be JUSTICE NOW, where The international value of 3 teenager's lives, paid in Halhul Land, should be transferred to the 3 Jewish families, who should be allowed to build a new Jewish village right there next to the town of Halhul, named after their teenage sons "Eyal, Gilad, & Naftali".

Its time to get rid of you. You accuse us of a Holocaust against your people, now maybe its time to show you what that concept really means. Killing children cant be accepted by any side. We try hard not to kill innocents, and you try to find and kill them and then hand out sweets. Barbarians

Since the kidnapping of the three settlers, Israel has arrested more than 300 people, killed at least 8, and bombed the houses of the "suspected" kidnappers. If this is not a war crime, I don't know what is. This is collective punishment based on information that the Israeli government has. All settlers are land thieves on occupied Palestinian land. This is according to international law and the UN. Settlers kill and burn Palestinian land on a daily basis.
