JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli police deployed in large numbers around Jerusalem early Friday as restrictions were imposed on Palestinian worshipers entering the Aqsa compound.

Israeli police only allowed Jerusalem ID holders over 50 and women of all ages to enter the Aqsa compound to pray.

West Bank residents who have permits will be allowed to enter, although Israeli authorities at Bethlehem's 300 checkpoint prevented all Hebron residents from crossing.

Worshipers told Ma'an that Israeli soldiers at the checkpoint did not allow them to cross, despite them being over 50, because they were from the Hebron district.

Tens of thousands of Palestinians pray at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on the first Friday of Ramadan.

Palestinians from the West Bank and the Gaza Strip are usually barred from Israel and from East Jerusalem, which Israel occupied in the 1967 Six-Day war and then unilaterally annexed.

Zionism &Israel have methodically "imposed restrictions"on Muslim&Christian Palestine since 1940's! And all funded/patroned/armed by our 'democratic' USG&poodles EU/UKG! Israel, the ethno-theocracy &expansionist Judocracy for Jews(especially white Ashkenazi Jews)? How can that be Obama? How you send our MULTICULTURAL,PLURALISTIC TAX DOLLARS to an apartheid, racist Jewish-fascist,Absolutist state, that wouldn't even welcome YOU,if you weren't POTUS!? Pray,do tell!

1., Mel, you may want to consider a reality check. The restrictions have everything to do with security and the Palestinian penchant for using al-Aqsa for often violent political protests.
