GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israeli warplanes on Monday dropped warning leaflets in the northern areas of the Gaza Strip, witnesses and Israeli media reported.

The leaflets read: "To the people of the Gaza Strip: The terrorists and smugglers are well aware that their terrorist acts of digging tunnels to smuggle military ammunition is a target for the Israeli Defense Forces, but they keep working and taking cover near your residences.

"Do not stand still. You are being used by terrorists who will not be by your side when you get hurt. Take responsibility for your future!"

The leaflet also provided a telephone number and email address to provide information to, with secrecy guaranteed, it added.

Digging tunnels in occupy terrritories is well known around the world. Jews in WW2 in the Warsaw ghetto dug tunnels to smuggle weapons and food. To the Nazis, they were terrorists, but not to the Jews that wanted to resist their occupation and siege. In Gaza it is the same thing, they dig tunnels, to the Palestinians they are resisting their occupation, but to Israel they are terrorists. The difference between then and now, the Nazis killed the Jews, in Gaza it remain to be seen.

If Hamas would stop bombing Israel, there would be peace. If Israel stops bombing Hamas, there will be no Israel. Israel wants peace. If you read the statements of Hamas and the statements of the Palestinians, then you know that they want the annihilation of the Jewish people and the annihilation of the State of Israel. To say otherwise is either denial or compliance.

@Steven S: Congratulations. You've been successfully brainwashed by the Zionist controller propaganda machine. Please wear tin foil on your head so we know who to help. dumbass

@2 - Steven S., that's not true. Khalid Meshal has said that Hamas will accept a Palestinian State on 67 borders, as have the Palestinian people. Everyone is willing to abide by the Arab Peace Initiative. It is Israel that chooses not to have peace through its own paranoia. Hamas simply resists occupation. No occupation, no resistance!! Very simple really. Peace comes to those who want it. Peace now.

Israel created Hamas as an alternative to the PLO and did not come to the scene till the mid 80s. So Steven S $2 , how come there was no peace then?. I agree that all parties ( Israelis and Palestinians) want peace , but the Israeli vision of peace is for the Palestinians to be quiet and accept the status quo. This will not happen.

And, #2, what would happend if Israel draw back to pre -67 borders, the ones the World community recognize?

At least 1,500 reserve soldiers have been called up.
IDF tanks and forces have gathered close to the Gaza border, and Gaza civilians have been warned in advance about living in a war zone, so
- If there's another war, and the civilians remain in the coming war zone, &
- If the Gaza militants again engage in the war crimes, of using Gaza civilians as "human-shields", then
* THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR CIVILIAN DEATHS WILL BE UPON
* BOTH THE CIVILIANS THEMSELVES & THE GAZA MILITIAS.

Steve, where in the Hell do you get your information from? Who told you that Israel wants peace?

@2) Stevens S. / USA If Israel wants peace they have to return to the Palestinians all occupy territories. And believe me you would hear a needle drop from Gaza if Israel returned the occupy territories and lift the Gaza siege. But you know and I know they wont. So it doesn't matter if Hamas stop launching rockets, launch their rockets, or fire crackers, Israel will not make peace. And in the mean time they need Hamas with or without their rockets to keep what they got.

Hamas fire rockets in response to overly heavy handed Israeli behaviour, Perhaps if Israel go back to the borders of 1967 , this would not be such a mess as it is now, We cannot allow this waste of human life to continue, despite numerous UN resolutions Israel continues to treat Palestinians as non entities ,steals land and treats Palestinians and Arabs as second class citizens, this is not a democracy, this totalitarianism and supremacy

Nine months of peace talks and Bibi refused to communicate with Abbas via back channels. Nine months of peace talks and Bibi failed to put one proposal on the table. The continuation of settlement building continues. If Israel truly wants peace, we don't have a leader interested in making peace. Sad but true.

@Steven USA: What about the occupation? You are aware there is an occupation and oppression of a people? You say "Israel" wants peace? You mean they want piece by piece by piece. Are you blind, deaf or plain dumb?

To Steven. You cannot attempt to close down conversation with the false dichotomy of your final sentence. What 'statements of the Palestinians'?There are several million Palestinians, do you know what each thinks, and do you believe that all avow 'the annihilation of the Jewish people'?. And are you aware that Hamas have clearly stated that they would observe a decades-long ceasefire in return for Israel withdrawing to pre-67 borders? Don't attempt to fool yourself Steven. Please

And Steven, the absence of war is not peace. Peace has to be desired and worked at for generations. I know this from the still-ongoing wounds and experiences of my original home, which is not Israel or Palestine. So your opening statements, apart from being mendacious, are also trite. More depth, please.

We all can get lost in the detail of GAZA people who are the original owners of nice beach property in Tel Aviv and orange groves that make Israel a great orange producer. And even sometimes I forget that the god of Abraham was savvy to allocate real estate to his people. All that is detail The sad story here is that our humanity cant take all the weapons from both parties and find a just solution that can afford their children a peaceful living.

Which idiot is now going to call for israeli restraint? I gurantee u thst if USA were targeted by even 1 rocket they would hit back - WITHOUT warning the enemy first. Israel have been hit by at least 100 rockets in the last 4 days and still before they carry out their counter terrorism raidd they warn the enemy. And then Abbas says that Israel don't want peace

Like every region ruled by a military regime (Egypt, Syria, etc.), it does Not matter to Hamas at all, what the people of Gaza may want, and: -1- Israel WILL have to give HAMAS THE WAR that it wants, but -2- Hamas will NOT give to ISRAEL THE PEACE that it wants !!

Steven, there would not be peace, because Jewish Settlers and Israel are systematically taking Palestinians' land. Go and see what is happening yourself, with your own eyes. Our newscasts are not telling us the whole story. We do not get news about the settlers, their activities of harassment and intimidation, and the settlements. We are being lied to, by omission, here in the West.

Gazans have been warned of the consequences. The choice as to whether they suffer those consequences by remaining near Hamas fighters is almost entirely theirs.

Hamas is an Islamic terrorist group on par with AQ and ISIS. They have committed the war crime of launching weapons at civilian populations about 10,000 times in the last 12 years. They are responsible for thousands of suicide bombings, car bombings, shootings, stabbings, kidnappings and targeting a school bus. They target civilians, their victims include scores of foreigners and Israeli Arabs. Hamas rocket making has killed Gazans as have the rockets that land in Gaza. Hamas brings death to all
