GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israel continued airstrikes and shelling on the Gaza Strip Monday, killing at least 14 Palestinians, medical sources said.

In the latest attack, three people were killed and seven injured including some critically after an Israeli airstrike on the Sheikh al-Eid family home in northern Rafah, residents said.

Sarah Omar Sheikh al-Eid, 4, Khalid Ahmad Sheikh al-Eid, 50, and Omar Ahmad Sheikh al-Eid, 24 were killed, they said.

In a separate attack, Mohammad Shakib al-Agha, 25, and Mohammad Yunis Abu Yusef, 25, were killed in an airstrike in eastern Khan Yunis.

A Palestinian teenager identified as Ziyad al-Najjar, 16, died after an airstrike on his motorbike in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, medics said.

They also said Ziyad Salim al-Shawi, 25, died of wounds sustained in an earlier attack.

Mohammad Taysir Hamdan, 24, was killed in an airstrike earlier Monday evening in southern Gaza.

Meanwhile, an airstrike on the Abu Issa family home in Deir al-Balah injured six people, medics said.

Abdullah Baraka, Abasan al-Jadida and Tamir Salim Qudeih, 37, were killed in Khan Younis by an Israeli airstrike, Gaza health official Ashraf al-Qidra said.

Hmeid Suleiman Abu al-Araj, 60, was killed in an airstrike on Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip and a man was seriously injured in a targeted attack on a motorcycle in Khan Younis.

A child was also wounded in the airstrike.

Earlier, Adham Muhammad Abdul-Fattah al-Abdul succumbed to wounds sustained in Gaza City. Hanadi Hamdi Muammar, 27, was killed in Israeli airstrikes on Khan Younis early Monday.

Over 60 Palestinians were injured overnight as warplanes bombarded homes, abandoned military bases and agricultural areas across the territory.

Al-Noor Mosque in Deir al-Balah was destroyed by an Israeli airstrike and a government building was hit in Gaza City.

There was shelling reported in Beit Lahiya, in the far north, where Israel had earlier warned residents of an impending assault.

UN chief Ban Ki-moon said "too many" Palestinian civilians have been killed, as the Palestinian death toll from the punishing Israeli campaign hit 172 with another 1,230 people wounded.

Ban also urged Israel to scrap plans for a potentially devastating ground offensive, fears of which have sent over 17,000 Gazans fleeing from the north.

Israeli media reported that a security cabinet meeting ended late Sunday with no orders for a ground assault.

Israeli army radio quoted security sources "at the most senior level" as saying that there were "four channels for attempts to reach a ceasefire -- Qatar, the Palestinian Authority, the Americans and the Egyptians."

As the death toll rose, the Gaza-based Palestinian Center for Human Rights said most of the victims were civilians, putting their number at more than 130, among them 35 children and 26 women.

Clashes erupted in central Paris as thousands of people protested against Israel and in support of Gazans. Protesters also rallied across Asia to condemn the Israeli offensive, with 3,000 gathering in Sydney and hundreds more in Hong Kong, New Delhi and Jakarta.

Israel is not going to do a ground offensive. They will have many casualties among their ground forces, and over that Hamas will still launch their rockets and the Israeli airforce will be useless for any airstrike for fear to hit their own forces. So airstrikes will continue, Hamas will continue to launch their rockets, and more civilians will die in the crossfire.

Hamas started the rocket blitz so clearly all Arab blood will be on their hands. This logic of "we get to attack you indiscriminately and then cry fowl when you defend yourselves" logic doesnt work with most people of the modern world. Surely the true Muslims know that Hashem has given this land to the Jews. Arabs are from Arabia. The land the Pali Arabs live in is called "Judea". Would anybody like to guess who the original inhabitants of Judea were? Anybody??

7 days could become 7 weeks, and
7 weeks could become 7 months, and
7 months could become 7 years, and
Nothing Will Change For Gaza,
Until Hamas Wants Peace !!

1., Joe, a local radio host in my town always ends his broadcast with "Be kind to your neighbor. He knows where you live." Israel knows where most of Hamas' and Islamic Jihad's leaders live and those not visited by a "tap on the roof" almost certainly will be visited by a small, highly mobile and very stealthy Israeli strike force within weeks unless Hamas declares a ceasefire.

take away women and children used as human shield we are talking on less than 50% civilians to militants terrorists ration. in Afghanistan it is 4:1 ratio. in iraq and syria it is most likely 25:1 ratio. this is why IDF is the highest moral army

Stop the rockets, disarm Hamas and other factions and there could be peace. Resistance is futile and deadly to Gazans. Israel protects their citizens Jewish, Christian, Druze and Arab with its missiles, Hamas protects its missiles with the Arab people of Gaza.

It's really shameful to see ignorant humans here talking about terrorists killing innocent children in Palestine. The only terrorists are Zionists - What would you do if someone knocked on your door one day and said "this is now my house, get out". If you had any self respect you would fight for your land, your home - that is exactly what Palestinians are doing.
