JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli police imposed restrictions on Palestinian worshipers entering the al-Aqsa Mosque for the third Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.

An Israeli police spokesperson for Arabic media said only men over 50 and women would be allowed to enter the Aqsa compound.

Israeli forces have deployed around the holy compound and in the alleyways of the Old City since early Friday.

For West Bank residents, only men over 50 and women over 40 will be allowed in to pray. Hebron residents are being prohibited from entering for the second Friday in a row.

Palestinians from the West Bank and the Gaza Strip are usually barred from Israel and from East Jerusalem, which Israel occupied in the 1967 Six-Day war and then unilaterally annexed.

For your readers' edification, from 1948 to 1967, east Jerusalem was 'occupied' by Jordan- and the Jerusalem Arabs never had a complaint with it. Jews were expelled, their synagogues trashed, their cemeteries desecrated by these Arabs. In 1967, Israel expelled Jordan and became the administering power. Did it expel the Arabs as they had done to the Jews years before? No. The Jews were civil. Israel has every right to kick out all the Arabs, just like Jordan had done. Think about it.

Considering Palestinian Muslims' abuse of Al-Aqsa for political confrontation, it was bound to happen. Consequences.

#1 When Jews lived under the Ottoman Empire, they were well treated and had good lives in the Middle East. When the European convert Jews came to Palestine with their Zionist ideas, things changed. Jerusalem Arabs would have had no complaints because they shared a common outlook with Jordan, when Israel (founded on terrorism by Irgun, Stern, and others) illegally occupied E. Jerusalem, they put in place an apartheid system which discriminates against the Arab inhabitants until today. You think!!
